You'll Be Mine, SOON!

I saw this in my sister’s blog.
She’s been actually asking me if I want to buy another Long Champ bag. Well of course I want to buy but the thing is, my budget won’t allow me.

Ever since high school I am addicted to bags. Even if it is a cheaper one as long as it is nice and fashionable, I always buy it. But now that I’ve started working for almost two years and able to earn money, I can somehow afford to buy designer bags.

So now, I am aiming and drooling for this bag, the Le Pliage Patches but I want it in a darker color. I’ve been a fan of LC bags and I actually have Le Pliage Eiffel already and I can’t wait to see the Le Pliage Patches in my hands.

How I wish I could have this now. I still thinking about this but perhaps I will end up buying this as my birthday is just a month away and I want to buy myself a gift. LOL!

No More Zits

It all started during my fourth year in high school. Zits started popping in my forehead and I was ashamed about it though I know that it’s normal in my age. But then, I was still so conscious with the way I look. I didn’t try to go to a dermatologist by then because I thought that I can still prevent it.

Unfortunately, frequent washing of my face didn’t work. My friends recommended some facial cleanser but I refused it because it might just ruin the infected areas even more.

But my problem just got even worst as zits started to appear in my cheeks. I was really alarmed by that time so I’ve decided to consult a dermatologist. She gave me treatments and other acne medications, which totally helped me, get rid of pimples.

And now, I’m almost pimple free and all I have to deal with are the marks and scars caused by it.

Truly Missed

I’ve posted before the story about one of our professors who has become so close to his students, especially to our group.

He left for Singapore last December because the company where he works full time assigned him there to work. It’s been four months now since he left the country yet he never forgets to contact us through email, chat and even at facebook.

Actually, last month, he sent us some presents as an advance gift for our graduation and good luck charm as we enter the real world of the professionals. Most of us got custom shot glasses, chocolates and even stuff toys.

Everyone appreciated the gift and everyone felt the longing for him. This only proved that though he is miles and miles away from us, he definitely never forgets us and the friendship and bonding that we have. We really miss him and we can’t wait any more until he comes back here in the Philippines.

My Only Goal For Now

My summer class has officially started. We just had a meeting yesterday with our thesis coordinator and she already announced the tentative schedules of our defenses.

We only have three weeks to finish our thesis. We all know that the time is quite short and that’s why we feel very pressured as the day passes by. For now, we are still dealing with the consultation with our adviser in preparation for our first defense. But then, we are having a bit of a hard time to meet with our adviser since she’s busy with her online degree that makes her unavailable for the most of the time.

I really wish that I will be able to finish my papers in just a span of time and most especially, I do pray that I will be able receive my diploma before another school year starts. If these things happen, I will now have the guts and eagerness to look for a job that will be perfect for me.

As The Big C Attacks

As I was reading colon cleanser reviews, I suddenly remembered my grandfather.

He has a stage 4 cancer and day by day, the cancer cells are slowly killing his whole body system that makes him really weak. It is continuously spreading in his other parts of the body, which surely gives him too much pain.

Last weekend, some of our relatives visited him at Bulacan where he currently lives. His sister is really worried of his condition that’s why they decided to bring him to the hospital even though my grandfather refuses repeatedly. He doesn’t want to have any kind of treatments anymore. He just want to stay at home, take a rest and enjoy his life for he thinks that he will soon be gone.

This coming Sunday, our family is scheduled to visit him again at Bulacan and encourage him to live with his sister here in Manila so he will always be monitored.

How I wish that this Big C is very easy to cure. I know I can’t do anything for my grandfather’s condition but I will always pray for him.

Family Getaway: All Set!

Finally, our family getaway is now booked! After so many discussions on where to go and when, we have already finalized the destination and scheduled date.

This is where we are heading to on April 18-19.

Photo grabbed on facebook and gemruiz.sulit.com.ph

The Awilihan Paradise Resort in Tanauan Batangas is a private place that offers many activities like jetski, kayak and or boat riding going to Taal.

We chose this place because the way it looks from the photos and from the feedbacks of our friends, who have been there, it is very relaxing and a very fun place to stay. We don’t like crowded places that’s why we prefer a private one since we are a big family as well so when we saw this, we thought that this is perfect for our family getaway.

I have marked my calendar already with this. I am too excited as much as the kids do. I am eyeing for the jetski that’s why I can’t really wait.

I’m sure this will be another one happy trip.

I Just Want To Rest For Now

Most of my classmates now are busy doing their resumes and submitting it to different companies. They are very eager to start to work in an IT company that’s why they are starting to look for IT Jobs that might be appropriate for them.

But what I’m busy doing now is preparing for lots of travels and getaways with my friends and family. I’m still not on the mood to look for a job because my mind says that I need a break and I should enjoy my life first after all the struggles and hardships that I’ve gone through for almost a year.

I just don’t feel like working now because all I want to do is give myself a chance to be with my family and friends which I wasn’t able to do because I’m too busy at school.

Maybe after a month or two or when I am ready to face the reality in the industry, I’ll start dealing with job searching.

The Weekend That Was

I really love vacation. Well guess what? I just spent my weekend at Makati Shangri-La Hotel with my sister and her family. It wasn’t really in my plan to come with them, but since they insisted because they also want me to enjoy while I’m on vacation and so that they will have company, I decided to join them.

I brought my laptop with me so that I can still go online and chat with my friends. Good thing that they have broadband in the room and they also have free WiFi access on some area of the hotel. So when my niece Bela is swimming in the pool, I brought down my laptop and started looking for term life insurance and as well as do some research for my thesis.

I was really happy with their service and the staffs and crews of the hotel are very attentive that they manage to attend to their guests immediately.

I definitely had a blast this weekend. Though our stay there was just short, still I enjoyed it. If only I have enough budget, surely I’ll come back at Makati Shang.

Any Suggestions?

Vacation has just officially started for me, but then I have to take note that I only have two weeks for that. I still have to attend my summer classes since I still have to continue with my thesis which I wasn’t able to finish last semester.

And since I’m in a vacation mode right now, I set aside first my school agendas and started looking for insurance quotes that I will need as soon as I get myself insured. Likewise, I have already started searching for perfect getaways because I and my friends are planning to have a summer trip again.

Actually, I’m having some dilemmas because my choices for our trip are all fully booked until June so I still don’t have any idea on where to go. I’m looking for other alternative places but I can’t find one for now because we are also considering some conditions like we only have a tight budget.

I just hope that we can finalize the schedule and destination as soon as possible because we are all really excited.

Extra Income

When I was in high school, I always donate my used books to some of the students in the lower years especially those who are in need. Often times, we don’t usually answer directly on our books and that’s why some can still be used again.

But when I was in college, after every semester, I’m trying to sell used books to bookstores that usually buy and sell secondhand books since I spent a lot of money when I bought them which are quite expensive unlike when I was in high school. In this case, I can earn extra money, which allows me to have more budget for school and personal expenses.

I’ve done this for four years during college and it was really a big help for me especially that I dealt with so many expenses during my last year in college because of our thesis and other case studies.

Still Checking My Budget

I’ve been using a MacBook for two years now. It was actually a gift from my brother during my birthday last two years. He knew that I needed a laptop since my course needs a lot of work in computer programming so just to be convenient in my part, he bought me a laptop.

But now, I can’t use it well since I had encountered some problems. Before, my laptop is in dual boot, which means that I have two operating systems installed in it namely Windows XP and Macintosh.

The Windows XP past crashed and all the data stored there were gone. I tried to fix it and I installed Windows XP again but after using it for 3 days, it crashed again for some reason that I still can’t figure out. My sister said that maybe there is already a damage in the hard disk that’s why I’m encountering such problems.

So now I’m thinking of buying a new laptop. I’m considering Sony VAIO as a replacement for my MacBook but I’m still not sure about it since I can still use my laptop with a Macintosh OS.

In addition, I still can’t let go of my MacBook because it was my brother’s gift so it is very important to me.

Shear Genius at ETC

I was watching ETC last night and I was able to watch the Shear Genius. Actually, it was my first time to watch the show and I got curious about it so I decided to stay tuned and watch the entire episode.

The show is a contest for hair stylists. They are given different challenges for every episode and one of them is being eliminated in the end.

The challenge that was given to them from the episode that I watched was, they have to choose their models and they have to turn the long hair to a short one using only one special tool. Each of them has given their chance to choose for their tool from the choices of household scissors, wire cutters, box cutter, baby/safe scissors, garden shears and many other tools that are not often used for cutting or styling a hair.

I was pretty amazed on one of the stylist who chose the garden shears. I admired her courage to take risk in using that big scissor in styling her model’s hair knowing that it could break her from the competition. Actually, she was the challenge winner and the judges were really impressed with what she did.

Maybe if I were her model and I saw that big shears in her hands, I might just run out of the salon. LOL! I was just so thrilled with her performance and I can say that she is a very good stylist.

With God, All Things Are Possible

On this day of your life, Vien, we believe God wants you to know ... that infinite possibilities are born of faith.

Do you think that's air you breathe; that's earth you walk on? All matter is God's creation. And the source is faith. When you have so much faith that you become one of faith, infinite possibilities open to you.

And yes, I know there are endless possibilities that await me and God will help me achieve whatever I want in a perfect time and perfect place.

I know I should not lose hope despite of all the odds that’s been happening in my life right now. I lift it all up to HIM for I know that HE will never abandon me. I trust HIM the most and I thank HIM for guiding me in my everyday life.

What If?

One of my professors asked me, “What is the biggest challenge in your life?” I was a bit silent for one moment, thinking about the best answer that I can give her. And then I thought, my biggest challenge in my life is the fact that I was here studying as a Computer Science student. My professor asked me why and then I answered her honestly.

I never planned myself being here. I actually want to be in the fashion industry and not in the computer industry. I was just influenced by my sister and brother who are both engineers that’s why I was here. For me, the fact that I was able to stay until my fourth year in college makes it the biggest challenge in my life because I did a job well done and I got my degree even though I am not that interested with what I am doing in this field.

And so my professor started to wonder, “do you have any regrets that you chose this path instead of the one that you actually planned?”

I immediately said NO! Because I know that I’ve given my whole effort, time and almost my whole life just to finish my degree and I know I’ve reached my own definition of success.

But now I’m starting to wonder, “What if I chose to be in the field that I want? Will I be happier? Will I be able to have a successful home business or even my own company for my unique fashion designs? Will I be known in the fashion industry and be a fashion icon?”

These are the things that I am trying to seek for answers. I know it is not yet too late for me. I’m still young and I believe I still have the chance to fulfill my dreams. I guess I should stop wondering “what if?” and rather start searching for myself and discover what is truly destined for me.

Doing The Traditions

Yesterday, my boyfriend, together with her sister, cousin and niece went to different churches to do one of the traditions during Holy Week, which is the Visita Iglesia.

People doing this must visit 14 different churches and then pray for every station of the cross. As much as possible, they should only walk no matter how far the place is because this is part of their sacrifice.

It was my boyfriend’s first time to do this. They started around 7:00PM and they finished the 14 churches by almost 12 midnight. He told me that he was so tired since they were just walking from the start until the end.

Actually, he felt pain in his body when he woke up this morning. In fact, he used joint pain relief to lessen it because he really can’t move normally.

But then, even though this happened to him, he doesn’t have any regrets at all because what he did was a sacrifice to somehow pay for the wrong things he did and of course thanksgiving to God.

The Trouble With My iPhone

I’m having some trouble with my iPhone for two weeks now. The battery is not working so well because it discharges very fast. Even if the battery is fully charged, it will just last for at least half of the day, which is not normal because before, the battery can lasts for up to one and a half day.

I really don’t know what happened. It’s just like, one day, it turns out to be like that. I can’t find any reasons for it to work like that because I always charge my battery properly so I don’t know why it isn’t working just like before.

Another thing, my iPhone works really slowly I don’t have that much applications that can cause the phone to react slowly. Actually it still has a 7GB free space on the memory. I think some sort of a computer virus infects it, which caused my iPhone to have that problem.

I am thinking now if I should trade it in with 3Gs since I’m planning to buy one as soon as I have enough money or just change the battery and have it reformat so I can lessen my expenses. What do you guys think?

My Sleeping Habit

During the last three months, my usual time for sleeping is between 3:00AM to 6:00AM. I’ve been doing a lot of school works that’s why I always sleep so late and this is the reason why my sleeping habit totally changed.

Though I am in a vacation mode now, no matter how bad I want to sleep as early as 11:00PM, I just can’t. I am so used to sleeping in the wee hours and that’s why the dark circles around my eyes are starting to get darker and darker. I really don’t know if I can still get rid of it as well as my eye bags.

I pretty much hate my situation now. I want to have a normal routine of sleeping earlier than my usual time because it’s a bit hard for me especially when I need to get up so early in the morning.

I really don’t know the exact thing to do about this. So if you have any idea, please tell me because that may help me with my dilemma.

The Zit Problem

I noticed that my sister is starting to have zits in her face. This is what she rants about for the past months because ever since she stopped drinking her pills, it continues to pops out all over her face.

This is her dilemma for the past months now. She actually wants to try the best acne medicine that I am currently using but she’s a bit scared because she’s pregnant and it is a bit dangerous for pregnant women to take medicines without the doctor’s prescription as this can have an effect to the baby.

For now, she’s trying to get rid of it with the natural treatment that she read at her Belle de Jour Power Planner. She’s putting lemon or calamansi juice on her face and sometimes she puts toothpaste on the infected area as this can help to dry up the acne. And the most important method to do is drink lots and lots of water.

Holy Week

I bet everyone is enjoying the long weekend vacation as we celebrate the Holy Week. Most people took the chance of bonding with their family and friends as they go out of town while some just preferred to stay at home and do their usual things like watching, surfing the net and food tripping.

But then again, as people enjoy their short vacation, do we still think about the real essence of Holy Week? For me, what matters most to some are just fun and travels.

Holy Week is the best time to reflect on our sins and pray to Jesus. This is the time for us to remember and give importance to HIS sacrifices as he saves us from our sins.

Our family is one of the people who chose to stay at home so we can have a quiet time to reflect. This is what we do every year. We somehow follow few of our traditions like for instance, visita iglesia, station of the cross and the simple order of not eating pork or beef (and that’s why we only have fish food and veggies in our dinning table today until tomorrow).

For me it is not wrong to have fun and enjoy the week. But let us all make sure that in whatever things we decide to do, let’s not forget to pray and give thanks to our Almighty God for He is the only reason why we are here on earth.

Another Family Getaway

Every year, we celebrate mother’s day in a very simple way. Wee cook foods to share within the family and then we buy gifts such as flowers and cakes to all the moms in our clan. This is a special day to them that’s why we always take the opportunity to thank our moms and make them feel their importance to us sons and daughters.

But this year, we want it to be extra special. We want to celebrate it in a different way but we are still thinking for mother's day ideas on how are we going to celebrate it.

The initial plan is to go out of town for at least 2-3days. My cousin is the one organizing this getaway so I still have no idea if we are going to push through with this or consider another plans. Of course we also need to consider the budget so we won’t have any problems.

I just hope that everyone will have a great time especially to all the mothers. I just can’t help but feel excited because this will be another fun trip with my family.

I Want!

I was planning to buy a pair of boots at Janylin last month but first I was a bit hesitant to buy because I thought that it won’t look nice on me. But then, when I decided to have one, I was so unlucky because they don’t have available sizes for me anymore. I’ve been to so many branches of Janylin but I was really unfortunate.

I was so frustrated. The saleslady told me that the style that I want will no longer be available since there is a new style of boots released last month. I don’t like the new style because it has heels and I just want the flat ones.

And so, what I did was to look for another styles from other boutiques but I didn’t find any. But then, I saw an alternative at Sanuk. Though it is not really a boots, it somehow looks like one.

When I saw the Sanuk Tube-Flops, I immediately thought of buying one. For me, it looks very comfortable since it is a flip-flop and I am so used of wearing those. But I haven’t tried it though that’s why I still don’t have any idea on how it looks for me and how comfy it is to wear.

Oh well, maybe next week, I’ll try to fit one and if it looks nice, I’ll definitely buy it.
