Holy Week

I bet everyone is enjoying the long weekend vacation as we celebrate the Holy Week. Most people took the chance of bonding with their family and friends as they go out of town while some just preferred to stay at home and do their usual things like watching, surfing the net and food tripping.

But then again, as people enjoy their short vacation, do we still think about the real essence of Holy Week? For me, what matters most to some are just fun and travels.

Holy Week is the best time to reflect on our sins and pray to Jesus. This is the time for us to remember and give importance to HIS sacrifices as he saves us from our sins.

Our family is one of the people who chose to stay at home so we can have a quiet time to reflect. This is what we do every year. We somehow follow few of our traditions like for instance, visita iglesia, station of the cross and the simple order of not eating pork or beef (and that’s why we only have fish food and veggies in our dinning table today until tomorrow).

For me it is not wrong to have fun and enjoy the week. But let us all make sure that in whatever things we decide to do, let’s not forget to pray and give thanks to our Almighty God for He is the only reason why we are here on earth.
