Most Special Gift

Last June 10, 2009, I celebrated my 20th birthday. It was quite sad because I’m out of the teen stage. LOL! But of course I’m happy that I have another year to live with.

I celebrated my birthday with my friends. I was with them the whole afternoon, as well as my boyfriend. It was a very fun day and I am very happy and contented to see them in my birthday. They gave me gifts such as books and flip flops because they know how I love those stuffs. In addition, my boyfriend gave me a big bear that is so nice to hug because it is very fluffy. But honestly, we had a hard time carrying it as we go home. LOL!

When I finally got home, I spent the remaining time for my family. They cooked pasta and my brother both two cakes for me. I was so surprised and what was more special about that day was my mom’s gift to me. She gave a very fabulous heart pendant jewelry which was her own possession. I was so touched by her because I was expecting that she will give it to my eldest sister.

So that was the most special gift that I received during my last birthday and I want to thank mom for it. I promise to guard it with my life.

Highschool Reunion

Just last month, we had our high school batch reunion at Trinoma. It was an urgent call from one of our batch mate that’s why she wasn’t able to contact everyone. But still, many were able to come and all our closest boys in our batch came despite of their busy schedules.

When everyone was there, I and the rest of my friends noticed one of our batch mates. She was a slim girl before just like me, but when we saw her, majority of us got surprised with the way she looked. She is fat now and we honestly didn’t recognize her immediately. When I got the chance to talk to her, she voluntarily opened up to me and she told me that she got pregnant and she just gave birth last three months that’s why she gained a lot of weight. And that’s where my curiosity ends.

Actually, she’s beginning to lose weight now since she wants her slim figure back. She started to go the gym with some of her friends and she’s now taking diet pill to lose weight faster. She consulted some of her friends and even her doctors about this that’s why she’s not worried that it may have side effects.

Oh well, enough of my friend’s story. Our batch reunion was totally fun and everyone enjoyed each other’s company. And because of that, we decided to have a second shot, maybe next month.

Great Idea

Finally, my sister has decided to join his hubby in Europe. They will be leaving this first week of August but unfortunately, they have to leave their daughter. This will be their first time to travel in Europe that’s why they are very excited. This will also be their second honeymoon because they want to have their second baby.

If this will happen soon, I can’t wait to order photo birth announcement for friends and relatives. As always, I am too excited whenever we have a new baby in the family because I always love taking care of babies. I bet even my sister will feel very excited and I know that she will love the idea of deciding what Birth Photo Announcements to order from Cards-411.com so that even her friends and relatives abroad can see her new baby.

Actually, I got this idea from one of my friends who just gave birth at her first daughter. She sent us photo announcements birth since we still can’t find time to visit her and her baby.

Too Sporty

I’ve always been the sporty type of girl. Ever since I was a kid, I always show interests with different sports that I see on the television and even in magazines or other pictures.

And so, my parents decided to train me into different sports and adventure games like swimming, badminton and even water sports but of course I still do have my limitations at that time and at times.

As time goes by, I became more and more persistent in trying different adventures and games. Just like when my brother in law introduced me in his new addiction which is the airsoft, I got fascinated with it and I was very excited to try it. He first oriented me with the rules on how to play it as well as the main objectives and purpose of the game.

In addition, he showed me his Guns AirSoft that he bought from Softairpro.com as his first equipment. Before, he only owns one but now, he already invested I think three airsoft guns including one airsoft rifle.

He really saves money to buy his own stuffs and actually, he’s soon planning to buy airsoft electric guns and another batch of guns airsoft. I can really see how he enjoys playing this game that’s why I got more interested with it.

Fortunately I was able to come to one of their matches and they allowed me to play. Since then, I’ve made up my mind that this will be my next focus though my parents thought that this is a bit extreme for a girl like me. But then again, that can’t stop me because they know how I love being in such adventures.

Sooner than later, I will be able to buy my own guns airsoft. But for now, I will borrow first from my brother since he’s willing to lend it to me and thanks to him.

Mind Conditioning

Totally Vain

Lately, my mom has been asking me if she’s starting to look old. She thinks that she looks older than her age because she’s starting to see lines from her face.

Since she keeps on asking me almost every day, I just then decided to check her face to see for myself what she is trying to point out. When I saw her face, I can’t see lines at all but still she insisted that she’s starting to have wrinkles. So then I thought that my mom is just starting to get conscious because she’s a type of mom and woman who never wants to have those lines in her face because she always wants to look good and young in the eyes of other people.

This is why my mom suddenly decided to visit her dermatologist last week. She underwent diamond peel to get rid of her dead skins and to maintain a fresh and young looking face. In addition, her dermatologist gave her the best wrinkle cream to lessen the lines that are starting to form.

And now, my mom stopped asking about her wrinkles now. She was so glad and contented with the results that she had with what she did and I am very thankful for that. LOL!

Successful Work

I was watching a foreign talk show a while ago. They featured women with health and body figure problem during their last couple of years. These women were fat and some of them gained a lot of weight due to their previous pregnancy.

During the start of the interview, the audience didn’t think that they were fat before because they really loss a lot weight of now. Actually, they were all shocked when they saw their pictures from then and now.

And so, as the discussion goes, they talked about the things that they did to lose weight. Some took the best weight loss supplements that were prescribed by their doctors while some took some natural techniques like consistent diet and exercise. Obviously, it took a lot of time for this people to lose weight compared to those women who decided to burn their fats through the help of pills.

But even if they took a dissimilar strategy on losing weight, I can say that all of them came up with a big difference. All of them succeed in their goal of attaining a great body and all their hard works were really worth it.

Deadly Semester

These will be the list of all my school works that need to be done before August.

Case Study for System Analysis and Design (group project) – We need to look for a certain company to study their existing system and we are required to enhance it. Or if our chosen company still uses a manual system, we need to automate the system that they are using depending on their uses, benefits and implementation. (Until now, we still can’t find a perfect company since almost all companies in this time is generated by computers. The thing is this will be one of our major problems because we have to present this by third week of August.)

Case Study for Data Communication and Networking (group project) – We also need to look for a company where we can enhance or install a networking system. Our presentation for this will be on August. (We already have a company for this but we still can’t really finalize it because it is not yet approved by our professor since we haven’t done an ocular inspection.

Research Writing (by partner) – Our thesis is all about enhancement of an existing algorithm that is feasible and implemented. We have to choose one algorithm and we need to look for certain predicaments within that algorithm and those are the things that we need to develop. Initial defense will be on the last week of July, I think. (Honestly, we still don’t have approved algorithms. It’s really hard for us to choose and decide that’s why we are really dead!! LOL!)

Case Study for Automata and Language Theory (group project) – In this subject, we have to make our own compiler or programming language. This means that we have to make our own rules and regulations base on the compiler that we are going to make. Our initial defense will be on August also.

Group reporting for System Analysis and Design and Data Communication and Networking – We have to report the assigned topics with our classmates through seminar.

So this will be my list of effin school works for this semester. I hope that I can finish the first semester ALIVE!! Lol!

God Bless Her

Earlier this evening, I’ve heard that the former President Cory Aquino is currently suffering too much pain because of her cancer. She lost her appetite and according to her daughter, she really loss a lot of weight. She honestly admitted that her mom’s case is getting worst but still, the former President is still trying to fight.

I think it was during March when former President was diagnosed with cancer. Within those times, she undergoes treatments like of course the chemotherapy. By that time, she was seen by the public with weaker and thinner body since the cancer cells are slowly killing her organs.

In this time, her cancer has just turned in stage 4 which we all know is a critical stage. The cancer that stroked her was just like the mesothelioma which is rare and very hard to cure. There are little chances that a patient who has these kinds of cancer will survive the battle.

What we can do now for our beloved Cory Aquino is to continuously pray for her as she goes through her test. Let’s also pray for her family to strengthen them as they take care of her. We know how much she devoted her life for our country and we know what she did during the past years for everyone of us.

I hope that she and her family will be able to pass through this battle with the help of God and our prayers.

So High School

Before, when I was in high school, I really didn’t want to carry all my things with me whenever I go to school. I was only using a small bag then wherein I can put some of my notebooks and other personal things like comb, mirror and such stuffs like that.

Because of this, I decided to purchase a locker where I can keep all my stuffs whenever I’m not going to use it. By this, I was able to lessen the things that I usually carry in school and it was really a hassle free for me since the school lockers are definitely secured.

But then again, when I was about to get a school locker, I was very unfortunate because there were no lockers available at that time.

To be honest, our school doesn’t have enough lockers for sale. Only few students can have the privilege to use the lockers and they always prioritize the officers of the different organization that we had in high school.

So then, I decided to ask my best friend who happened to be the President of Student Council, if she can share her locker with me. Good thing that she didn’t hesitate and allow me to use her locker.

Fortunately, she was able to reserve the last locker for sale at that time that’s why she was able to ow one. And I really thank her for that. LOL!

Never Surrender

Now that I am in my last year in college, it is expected that we have overloads of work to deal with. And since this will be our final test, we really have to manage all the heavy and major subjects in our course. I must admit that this will never be easy!

As the first semester started, some are really not going so well. We still can’t finalize our topic for our thesis and we still can’t find the perfect company where we can enhance their current system that will serve as a partial fulfillment for our degree.

Everyone in our group is trying their very best to somehow accomplish everything one at a time. Unfortunately, the initial defense will be this August so obviously, we are running out of time.

I still don’t have any idea on where to start and which one should be given more focus because everything that we are doing is under the major subjects.

I just wish our group mates a good luck and I hope that we can all survive. LOL!

Wisdom from my Parents

I can’t believe that I am already in my last year in college. Soon I will be walking out of the walls of my university and will be one of the working professionals.

One thing that I learned from my parents is to learn how to save up for the future so I promised myself and my parents that as soon as I start to earn my own money, I will be wise about it and will not spend it like crazy. I will save up or invest it so I am sure that my future will be secured.

One of the investment options that I am looking at is investing in precious metals like gold and silver. These precious metals don’t depreciate in time and thus will be a really good investment. Facebook Games; So Cool!

Oh well, I am an official gamer of Pet Society and Restaurant City. To be honest, I am totally addicted to these games and I am really hooked up with the things happening in my restaurant and my own pet.

Ever since I became a member of Facebook, I always see to it that whenever I go online, I always check my accounts in these games because I don’t want to decrease my popularity. Honestly, at first I didn’t see it as a very enjoying game and I thought that it was just like a tamagotchi where you will just play with your pet. But when I tried to explore both games, I just got addicted to it. It definitely tests my patience as my level continuously increase and as well as the coins or the points that I acquire.

I mean it guys, these are really fun! Why don’t you try it and see it for yourself to find out the fun and exciting feeling that I have? LOL!

My Love for Shoes

Shopping is always my therapy whenever I experience depression, frustrations and other things that really stress me out. But I am not that shopaholic though. If I go for shopping because of depression, a nice pair of shoes of slippers is enough for me to forget what happened even just for a while.

And speaking of shoes, it reminded me that it’s been months since I last bought a pair. Due to my love for shoes and slippers, I used to buy one every month. But I don’t always go for signature and expensive ones but I admit that there are times that I prefer those things even if I have to spend a lot of money besides it’s all worth it.

So since I haven’t bought either a shoe or flip flops, I am actually planning to visit the mall or even search online for UGG womens shoes for a new stuff in my collection. But then, I’m a bit hesitant because I am still undecided since I really don’t know what style or brand to buy.

Perhaps, I just need a little time to look for the newest trends for shoes nowadays. I’m getting excited to buy one but of course, I have to save money for this.

Total Performer

During my elementary and high school days, I am known to be a performer. Whenever our school holds a program, expect that I am always present and performing at the stage in front of my schoolmates and faculties.

As I have always said, dancing is my passion that’s why I am one of the popular dancers in our school. I joined one of our organizations in our school which is the Theater Arts Club and this is where I developed my talent including acting and a bit of singing.

Likewise, most of the time, I am chosen by our class to represent our section during the school beauty pageants. But then again, though I am used in performing in front of many people, I sometimes feel strange especially during the interviews in the pageants. I sometimes stutter and worst, I do experience public speaking anxiety. I just don’t know why this one happens. Even though I know the answer to the question and no matter how I am prepared before the actual speech, in the end, I am stunned and have all the butterflies in my stomach.

Maybe speaking in front of many people is not my thing. That’s why, whenever I join a pageant, I can’t help but feel nervous when I think about the idea of interviews and talking at the middle of the stage while all eyes are looking at me, waiting and listening for my words.

Oh well, I just hope that eventually I will be able to deal with this problem. But for now, I am pretty happy and contented in dancing and acting. LOL!

They Need Guidance

Whenever I go to school, I always see drug addicts in the streets. They are very vulgar when it comes to their use of drugs including rugby. They walk around the streets while holding a plastic or even a bottle where there rugby is placed.

This really bothers me a lot and even scares me whenever I pass those streets where they commonly stay. I can help but feel unsecured whenever I see them passing near me and worst riding on the same jeep where I am riding.

I’m not being judgmental but we all know that this kind of people does not do well to others. We can’t really tell what they can exactly do to us but they may be very harmful especially when they are high on drugs. Mostly, they steal things from other people just to produce money so they can buy more drugs for them to use.

The worst thing that I can see from those drug addicts is that, they are minors and some of them are really, really young like 5-10 years old. They don’t only take drugs but also, I can see them smoking.

And so I wonder why our government is not making any remedy for this predicament. I’m sure that they are aware of this and they don’t even bother to find ways to help this people. They don’t even think of putting them in a drug rehab because they are too busy with other problems that are not that important.

Furthermore, we don’t even have a well trained police who can capture these addicts. In fact, even they see this people; they just ignore them like as if they can’t see them and like they don’t exist.

If this problem continuously tolerated, nothing will happen in our country. Drug addicts will increase their popularity as they will think that our government ignores them and with this, they will continue to do bad things to others.

Shopping Time Again

I always want our kitchen to be organized and clean. I hate it when I see it in a mess because that’s one of my favorite places in our house since I always love to cook. That’s why, after I cook something, I always see to it that I clean the place well and put the things back in order.

But then, I realized that the containers of our utensils are a bit big which takes a lot of space in the kitchen especially near the sink where the plates, silverwares and other pots are placed. And so what I did is ask my mom to buy new racks to lessen the spaces for the containers but unfortunately, she has something to do that’s why we can’t go to the mall.

So instead, I turned on my laptop and seek help from the net because I was very eager to organize our things in the kitchen. And lucky enough, I found jk adams. I was interested with the things available in the site and I really searched for every detail so I can tell my mom to buy it.

The first thing I checked on was the jk adams pot rack. I think it will be perfect since we can just hang it on the wall to put the smaller pots and even some cooking utensils.

The next one is the jk adams spice rack. It will be easier if we use this so we can readily see the spices in one place and most especially in order. This is also advantageous for me since I always misplaced some ingredients that’s why it is better if put everything in a rack.

For now, this is all that I’ve got from the site. I’m still thinking if I should buy a rack for our wines but I’m still undecided since our old rack is still in good condition.

Boys And Girls

I know that guys are naturally not materialistic. They are easily contented with the things that they own, unlike the girls who hardly become contented especially when it comes to fashionable things like bags, make ups, shoes, clothes and other stuffs that go with it. In fact, studies have proven this. Girls are the ones who cannot easily find contentment compared to guys.

I really agree with this. But girls have always reasons behind all of this matter. Us girls are usually vain that’s why we become materialistic. We always want to look good that’s why we invest on buying expensive clothes, signature bags and shoes. We always want to look presentable and always in trend that’s we are not easily contented on the things that we have. But then again, I think guys also do have something to invest on. Almost every guy wants to have luxurious cars just like gmc Yukon or the famous Chrysler 300.

As I can see, this is the only thing that guys have been drooling. For them, this adds extra points to them when it comes to looks and style. Most of them save a lot of many just to own one luxurious car or even a simple but still expensive car.

This issue goes with my brother. I know that he’s investing money for a ford transit connect that he really wants to buy for so long now. This is one of his dream cars and that’s why he’s saving almost half of his income for this.

But then again, when he saw the gmc Yukon, he quite changed his mind because he was fascinated by the car’s look but I think that it’s a bit more expensive. So I don’t think that he will completely change his mind.

I'm Still Sick

I’m not feeling well. I’ve been experiencing cold, cough and fever and I think I got it from one of my classmates who’s been sick for two weeks now and suffering the same things as what I have now. Actually, everyone in our class is starting to feel unwell. There is some sort of virus present in our class which is very contagious. LOL! (Hoping it’s not the A(H1N1) virus)

Because of this, I wasn’t able to attend my class for about two days because my parents didn’t allow me and they want me to rest so I can regain my strength and get well immediately.

Fortunately, I have already attended my classes earlier but still, I’m not yet fully recovered. I still feel ill and my cough really makes me weak as well as my cold because I’m not really comfortable and I can’t breathe well.

I just hope that I get well soon as I still have so many pending works at school to finish.

The Great Impact

Technology has played a very important role in our life nowadays and even until now; it’s continuously performing a great impact not only in our society but in the whole world.

This is an absolute truth because technology is endlessly evolving. It’s been a very useful thing for every individual and society because it manages to make works easier and faster. It practically saves time and energy as things become less complicated.

Like for instance, the use of cellular phones are widely used for many years now. Most people use this as the simplest and fastest means of communication even outside the country and in fact, it’s almost considered as a necessity and not as a want in our generation. Furthermore, as technology is being developed, different features for cell phones are now ready to use for entertainment and other activities.

Fortunately, there are many advantages that we can acquire aside from the things mentioned above. But we must always be careful and not only depend on technology as we still have the capabilities to work on our own.

Truly Missed

It’s been a year now since my best friend moved to California with the rest of her family. She chose to stay there because her parents are permanently working at California and of course she wants to live with them. Even though it was not that easy for her to adjust with the new environment where she is now, she still preferred to live there to be with her whole family.

During her first months, she really can’t cope with the way things work in their country. She even spent time just to arrange her stuffs to her new home but good thing, there are moving companies Los Angeles available who helped transfer her belongings.

As far as I can see, my best friend changed a lot and I am very happy for her. She now has a better life and I know that she developed some attitudes which made me so proud of her. She’s not the shy type girl now, but instead, I can see a very smart and confident lady.

Oh well, I just badly miss my best friend. I’m hoping to see her soon and spend time with her.

From Big to Small

It’s my niece birthday this coming November and it’s been the usual thing for my sister to hold a birthday party for her daughter and it always took her almost one year to prepare. But this year is a bit different.

Actually, everyone in our family especially the grandparents are now wondering why my sister is not yet preparing for the birthday party since it is just a couple of months away. Supposedly by this time, my sister has already made the reservations with her different contacts for the party including the venue and the caterers and the shows, and she is already looking for kids party invitations but now, she haven’t booked anything yet.

Due to my curiosity, I decided to ask my sister about her plan. She told me that she’s not really planning a big party for this year even though her daughter is requesting for an Under the Sea party. Instead, she’s planning to have it at my niece’s school so she can celebrate her birthday with her new classmates. Plus, there will be another party at the orphanage which we always do every year.

Still, my sister wants to have children birthday invitations for the kids at the orphanage and also invitations child birthday for her daughter’s classmates. In addition, she’s planning to have some shows like the puppet or magic show if she has enough budget.

Regarding the invitations, she already asked her hubby to look for Kids Party Birthday Invitations so that they will be able to have it organized before the party.

For the Preparations

Last month was a very hectic and busy time for me and for the rest of my friends. Since we were still on vacation mode, we all decided to help one of our friends because her sister gave birth and they asked for assistance to prepare all the things needed for the baptism.

I got pretty excited when I heard that news because I always enjoy doing the preparations that’s why I didn’t hesitate to help. So we first looked for the venue and the church and checked if the scheduled date that her sister wants was available. Then we immediately started looking for christening invitations as this is one of the major needs for the event.

Honestly, it was not hard for us to find one since I already have an idea about this Religious invitations because I was the one who prepared for my cousin’s First Communion Invitations last year.

After accomplishing the basic things for the baptism, we searched for a design that will suit for the souvenir. It took a long time for us to agree on a particular design because we definitely considered the budget and of course the approval of the baby’s parents.

As soon as we finished our tasks, we waited for the invitations baptism to be done and after we were able to get all of them, we distributed the invitations to all the visitors invited in the baptism.

It was really a tedious work for all of us but we all enjoyed it and everything was worth it.

Totally Hell

I want to apologize for not making any updates or posts for almost a week. I am really busy now ever since this school year started and it really stresses me out.

Even in our first week of classes, we are already assigned to do many things regarding our thesis. We are tasked to present five proposals for our topic in our thesis and these include the title, background and significance of the study, statement of the problem, scope and limitations, theoretical framework and even the definition of terms and we were given only one week to do that. So can you imagine that?

Honestly, it is really, really hard for us. Everyone in our class was not able to do it because we don’t have enough time to finish everything because obviously, we still have to look for a nice subject and study some research about it before we could come up with the whole chapter 1 of our thesis.

Oh well, things just getting harder and harder. I just hope that we can all surpass this and graduate in time. LOL!!

The Feeling of... Whatever!!

I must admit, I’m feeling a little bit envy with my sister and now with my cousin. Actually, almost everyone in our family has their own scheduled trips for the upcoming months and I can’t come to either of them. Why? It is because I am too busy now with my studies that I don’t have time for my social life. I do have lots of work to do in school since I am now a graduating student. But can you blame me? I love to travel that’s why I can’t help but feel jealous of them.

I’ve already mentioned in my previous post about my sister’s trip to Europe. And just this afternoon, I heard the news from my cousin that their company will send her to Florida this coming September for one week training. And of course, to make her stay worth it, she decided to extend for another week to visit her friend and have a relaxing Orlando vacations.

Oh my, can’t I just be like them? Oh well, I know that kind of chances for me will eventually come in time. For now, I just have to accept that I have to deal and focus first with my thesis and other case studies (which I am really sick and tired of, LOL!).

Most Wanted Course

As what we can observe, many college students choose to take medicine courses because it is very in demand nowadays. Even before, I considered taking up nursing but at the end I still chose a computer related course because I don’t think I can handle and deal with memorizations and anything related to Anatomy. LOL!

Well anyway, as far as I know, many students prefer this course because they know that there are many health care jobs available especially in other countries which offer high salaries. And that’s why many Filipinos are willing to work abroad even though they have to live away from their family.

This is the reason why the Filipino nurses and doctors working abroad should be considered as great warriors for they sacrifice a lot for their own loved ones. Though it’s a bit hard and sad to work there, they don’t consider it as a big hindrance for them to reach their goals.
