The Final Set

March 7, 2009, at 8:00 PM at the SM Mall of Asia, "The Final Set” of Eraserheads was held successfully. Fortunately, I was one of the thousands of people who were very excited to see them once more and witness another history of this famous band. I still can’t believe that it did happen again and I was there and merely became part of the said history.

As the countdown of letters started, people kept on screaming, waiting for the band members to start singing. As they went out of the stage, the spirit of every people became livelier and I can honestly feel the deep excitement of each and everyone.

They sang about 27 songs and the band members even paid tribute for the late Francis M who became their close friend. I can see that even the crowd is jumping in happiness; Eraserheads can’t help but grieve for their friend. But surely, the overflowing joy of every crowd overwhelmed the band members which somehow ease the pain that they are feeling for the death of Francis M.

Anyway, for me, the best part of the concert is the very last part wherein they sang three additional songs which are not included anymore in their set lists. It happened when Raimund Marasigan came back on the stage and called for his other band members and they all called the people (and we are actually on our way out of the venue) as they will sing again. Many people came back running because we all thought that the show was over since they already bid goodbye and even the fireworks were done. I think they did that to satisfy the audience and make up with the incident that happened in their first reunion concert.

I’m just very happy that I was able to watch it. I hope there will be next time for this.
