I Am Powerful and Beautiful

“What makes a woman powerful and beautiful?” This is a question that was asked by my teacher way back in high school.

And so I answered her…

I am definitely a woman of simplicity. What makes me powerful and beautiful is knowing myself, my strengths, my weaknesses, fears and boundaries and most especially, having a keen understanding of the people and the circumstances around me. I am genuinely devoted to showing that I care for the world and keeping my relationships with them alive.

Furthermore, I am honest and fair to those people who are true to me and who gives me the right respect that I deserve. I am strong and for me, learning is the key towards my future. I don’t take advantage of every opportunity and challenge that each day presents and I learn from them. I always look at the bigger picture. For me, fulfillment comes not only from personal success but also in knowing that I have contributed to something greater. I always put my 100% into any endeavor that I do.

I live a well balanced life. I am very passionate about what I’m doing. I take risks because I know that it takes a little more courage to make my dreams come true. I charge mistakes to experience and view them as valuable lessons and move forward.

And these are exactly what make me powerful and beautiful. It’s not all about the looks, what matter is how I carry myself despite the bitterness and challenges that come across my life.

Fulfillment Of Dreams

People have certain dreams in their lives. Like me, I always dream to become one of the famous fashion designers in our world today. But these dreams will never come true unless I strive hard and go into depth of each thing. In order to succeed, of course I must learn to take things seriously and the most important is that, I must learn to be patient enough in achieving my goals. Having plans for tomorrow is a way of planning my future. I must be realistic and optimistic to be able to fulfill my dreams.

We don’t have to be discovered to build our dreams of forever. I personally believe that in real life, getting discovered by someone else is not as important as discovering yourself. We discover the beauty, the glory and the wonder that is within us. Discovering ourselves will definitely help us fulfill our dreams. Dreams that will make us succeed in life.

I have accepted the fact that because I’m human, I’m terrific in one thing, good at some, mediocre at a bit more and terrible at others. And if you’re human, you are too. You will have to discover the one thing that you are good at and major in it.

Management isn’t my cup of tea. Even pasturing and counseling aren’t adrenaline-pumping events for me. But I know, someday, I will bless the world with one thing: I will communicate to people about love, joy, peace and all the good stuff of life through sharing – hoping to change lives and make this world a better place to live in.

Life is not about trying to be an expert in everything. It is about being an expert in one thing and offering it to the world.

Fact..

Sacrifices are bound to happen in our lives. At times, people will have to sacrifice for themselves and for other people for the sake of their own goodness and happiness. Sacrificing doesn’t have to mean suffering. At some point, we have to cross certain boundaries to be able to come up with a great decision. Sometimes, we have to do something good to deserve someone as good as it is. Needless to say, time will come that we have to give up something or even someone just to acquire the things that we truly deserve.

As we grow old, we do have to consider every single thing that’s been happening in our lives whenever we make decisions. We merely have to consider every person and consequences of our actions. We do have to understand the different circumstances for us to be understood by people and for us to be respected as well. Let things happen and be not afraid to face it and by then, we can just let each thing pass by.

Feel Your Feelings and then Let Go

There was a time when my friend talked to me and told me, “I don’t know what to do with my life. Everyone hates me. No one loves me!” She crumpled down on my shoulder with tears falling from her eyes.

The first time that she told me about this, I honestly don’t know what to do. Should I cry with her? The first time, yes. But the twentieth time? I just remained speechless. I’ve just gotten used with her drama because every time I see her, she always breaks down into a river of tears. Only to find out that her world was about to end because a favorite shirt got damaged in the washing machine or her dog doesn’t wag his tail at her! I maybe exaggerated but that’s how crazy she was for the past months.

But then again, I’m her friend. So I really stood by her side every time her world is crashing down. I always remind her to respect our negative thoughts as friends, not monsters; as teachers, not masters. Negative emotions are the windows of our soul – and they will teach us about who we are and what exactly we need from God.

In a word, emotions need to be felt and then we should let go. Because we cannot let go of what we have not held! There are no short cuts! You can’t go around them, or skip them. The only way is through negative emotion.

I Am What I Am

I am absolutely imperfect for I was created to be this particular person with my own set of strengths, weaknesses, fears and idiosyncrasies yet I am well placed and highly capable with some things. I give love and the most important part of it is that I don’t expect it back in return. I am generous enough and very grateful for all the blessings in my life. I have the power to impute beauty on anything under the sun. I have the power to create love. Love that is pure and true.

To be beautiful is not despite of the imperfections but despite of the good deeds that we do as time pass by. For me, all we have to do is to stop comparing and start believing. The most difficult thing in the world is to be who you are not. Pretending and trying to be someone else is the difficult pastime of human race. And perhaps the easiest thing in the world is to be yourself.

We don’t have to pretend just to please other people. Besides, not all people are true to us as well. We should allow ourselves to do the things that will make us happy. At times, we must choose to be happy than to be right for not all good things are right and will make us happy. What matters is we’ve made the most of what we have. We had fun and we’ve learned from what we’ve done. We are slaves of our own happiness. We only live once and we should live our life fearless of other people’s shadow.

Basic Black

The easiest color to wear is black. It’s slimming and flatters most skin tones. However, there are a few things to keep in mind to keep this simple (non) color beautiful and elegant.

First, keep it clean and devoid of lint, dust, animal hair and thread. Have it pressed unless creases are part of its design.

Second, choose a piece that’s either exquisitely tailored or interestingly styled. It’s one thing to show up in a black dress and look out for differences in texture and fabric, pleats, fixtures and other key points of interest.

Third, don’t hesitate to accent or embellish. Make use of various accessories like belts, scarves, real and costume jewelry to give life to the somber color. This also helps vary the cook of your outfit or different occasions. Black after all is a canvas that you can easily fix up. Just make sure, these add-ons mesh well together.

Study Up!

Most students are getting bored with studying since it is somehow a daily routine for them. Of course, they are sometimes pressured and stressed out by lots of things that they have to do.

So here are some tips for an efficient study habits.

Do prioritize. Arrange things from the most urgent to the least.

Do sit down and plan how long it will take to finish a project. Set aside some time each day to actually do something about it.

Don’t do the hardest thing first. If there are several readings and assignments plus a test the next day, do the readings and assignments first, as they are easily accomplished, then tackle the bigger task of preparing for the exam. That way, you don’t get burned out. Doing easy tasks first helps increase your achievement level and makes you ready to tackle the next harder task. Doing the difficult task first tends to make you freeze, procrastinate and waste more time.

Do get down to it! There is no secret to studying. Just sit down and get started.

Life Is All About Change

There are some things that are bound to happen in just a simple snap. Things that will eventually hurt us in a while but sooner than later we will be able to accept the painful reality. We will be able to forget about all the troubles and worries in our mind and we will be able to wipe away the river of tears that falling from our eyes.

As time goes by, our life may possibly change without even realizing it. Too many happiness, joys, frustrations and pains that we are going to deal with. And somehow, it will make us a better and stronger person.

We should always not forget to value our life. We must learn how to appreciate things as well as the people that once came into our lives. After all, we never can truly tell when exactly they will be gone. We should not take things for granted because we might never know what we truly got until they are gone.
